1332 PARK STREET RESTAURANT IMPROVEMENT

1332 Park Street, Alameda, CA.  This restaurant remodel updated a 1960's era restaurant space. The existing space was cramped dark and unwelcoming. The ceiling at the first floor dining area was only 6'7" high, and the second floor dining was only 7'6" high.  Neither space was acceptable for a new restaurant. The existing second floor structure was removed to create an open and light filled room with a high ceiling.  A portion of the second floor remains to provide a balcony dining area.  The guardrail wraps around the space and flows down the new stair. The redesign resulted in the space being rented before the project was finished.
I worked closely with the contractor to preserve building systems that kept the project in the client's budget.
